First Bus Chassis Wash

As Britain's largest bus operator running more than one in five of all local bus services, they operate a fleet of nearly 9,000 buses carrying 3million passengers a day in more than 40 major towns and cities.

Keeping the fleet clean is of the up most importance and when they commissioned their new bus depot in Leeds, the Wesley chassis wash system was specified.

The chassis wash is a 21 metre long system installed into a preformed concrete pit only 500 mm deep. The system is fully automatic and incorporates a new gas heat exchanger for the supply of hot water.

The wash water is collected and recycled with an above ground biological water recycling plant. The Rowafil Bionic 20 is very efficient, recycling 100% of the water collected and operates without the need for traditional high maintenance sand and carbon filters.
