The waste water is cleaned in 3 steps:
- Pre aeration in pump pit for oxygen saturation.
- Particles separation by hydro-cyclones.
- Biodegradation of all organic waste (shampoo’s, waxes, oil, grease i.e.) by the bioreactor.
- The system allows for 100% re-use and therefore huge savings.
The waste-water from the wash bay passes into the wash bay gully and flows from there into a sludge pit. From the sludge pit the water will overflow into the aeration pit. In this pit we place the heavy aeration as well as the grinder pump (this is a submersible pump with knives at the bottom). The heavy aeration has two functions; to get rid of all volatile substances in the water and to saturate it with oxygen in order to avoid any anaerobic conditions.
The wastewater will be transported via the grinderpump to our recycling unit. It will firstly pass the hydrocyclones for filtration. The 90% of the filtered water will continue to flow to the bioreactor. The remaining 10% of the water, with the concentrated dirt, will flow back to the sludge pit. After this process has been completed the filtered water achieves a value of 5 micron. The remaining water is not wasted, but stays in the process. The concentrated dirt particles that have been filtered out will settle down in sludge pit. The filtered water passes through the bioreactor in which the dissolved substances, like oil and other chemicals, will be removed by biological catalysts. After this stage water can be stored for reuse in the wash bay.
The end result will be clean and clear water suitable for reuse in washing. The clean water storage should at least have a capacity that is at least equal to the average hourly consumption of water by the recycling mechanism.
If some local situation with existing pits and / or interceptors deviates from the advised situation as indicated above, details should be send over and we will study them for a full engineering into the most ideal installation based upon the given data.
